Kristin Moore - Online Exclusive Exhibition Series - Spring 2026 - Exhibitions - FERRARA SHOWMAN GALLERY

Press Release

FERRARA SHOWMAN GALLERY is excited to announce the Spring 2026 installment of its seasonal, online-exclusive series. A slight deviation from the usual model, this exhibition serves as the release of the latest, limited edition works on paper of Dallas-based painter Kristin Moore. The exhibition unveils seven new prints based on former, original paintings by the artist - marking the first of her bi-annual print drops of this year. Each image is available in a very limited edition run of only five, printed on archival, museum-quality Hahnemüle paper, and priced at $1,250 unframed. Moore signs, numbers, and hand-embellishes each piece in acrylic paint - making each truly a unique work of art.

The exhibition will be on view from 1 April through 30 June - online only, although all of these works are available for viewing at the gallery throughout the run of the show.

Moore says of her series of editions . . .

This exhibition of works on paper revisits my love of travel and the sense of wanderlust that continues throughout my artistic practice. These works approach locations I have previously referenced with a quieter, more intimate perspective shaped by memory and reflection. Each work is uniquely hand-embellished, layering in new elements and subtle details that transform the image, offering a new personal interpretation of the piece.

My work explores architectural landscapes through an atmospheric and cinematic lens. Through painting, I create interpretive renderings of recognizable locations that reflect on the human experience. My work oscillates between representing a physical setting and the idealized memory of a place.

I look to film as an inspiration for my work, admiring the framing, color, and atmosphere which all convey a visceral experience for the viewer. I find inspiration in the cinematography of John Alcott, Sofia Coppola, Hoyte Von Hoytema, and Wes Anderson. Travel is also a resource for my work. I source the images that influence my paintings from my many plane rides, road trips, and hikes up to overlooks. My continued collection of archived photographs is used as the blueprint for my creative process. As I work, I refer back to the photographs as a guideline but also allow the painting to go on its journey. Throughout the painting process, I’m omitting, editing, and rendering, resulting in the work becoming a veiled version of the original inspiration source.

The expansive skies in my work invite viewers to mentally place themselves within the setting of the painting. The familiar symbols that I reference, such as signage commonly seen along a highway, often spark memories for the viewer’s familiarity with a location. My landscape paintings expand on this by setting an idealized scene sparking a personal sense of connection and familiarity. Devoid of human activity within their compositions, my paintings allow space for the viewer to engage in a moment of personal reflection and solitude.
